Welsh Slate is available for roofing applications in eight elegant colours that are further complemented by the riven texture of slate.
These aesthetic qualities are combined with the material's natural durability and resistance to weather and temperature, making slate superbly adaptable and ideal for all environments
The variety of colours and special shaped slates can be used to create decorative bands or effects. These can be produced in most sizes to individual requirements.

As well as traditional Welsh and English slate, a full range of quality assured Canadian, Spanish and Chinese slates are becoming more available as the demand for natural slate increases.
Chinese slate is available in at least six colours similar to colours found in the slate mines of the United Kingdom.

Heritage Roof Coverings
Our slaters are trained in the fixing practices used with most Heritage roof coverings. Our specialities are Swithland, Westmoreland and Burlington random width/coursed slates and Colly-Weston Stone-slate laying. However the skills used for these particular types is easily transferred to other slates or tiles.

Man-made slate
Many tile manufacturers are now supplying reconstituted man-made slate products for a wide range of applications.
Benefits include the versatility of the single lap slates which are designed to be laid to roof areas deemed to be too low-pitched for traditional double-lap slates.
These materials are usually composed of at least 60% crushed slate with stone, resin and glass-fibre reinforcement.
No traces of cement or asbestos are found in most materials.
Reconstituted slates are not affected by the extremes of weather conditions or temperature.
