Green Roof Solutions
A green roof is a flat or pitched roof which is then covered in a layer of plant life which comes in a turf like slab, laid over a waterproof membrane. (Often they are known as a living roof, biodiverse roof, Sedum roof, brown roof, eco-roof, grass roof, turfed roof, or vegetated roof).
Our systems consist of 2 x 450g layers of GRP waterproofing which then has a layer of Green sedum or wildflower coverings applied to it.

Environmental and cost benefits
There are many environmental benefits to Green roofs:
- The thermal insulation of the roof will result in less heat escaping from the building, meaning lower energy bills.
- The vegetation also serves to act as a sound insulator.
- Valuable gases are returned to the atmosphere making them ozone friendly. More rainwater is retained than a traditional roof and the moisture is then returned to the environment via evaporation.
- Where a new building is in an environmentally sensitive area, they can be advantageous in satisfying stringent planning conditions, being much more aesthetically pleasing than traditional grp fibreglass flat roofing.
- They are the most environmentally friendly roof covering on the market
Low Maintenance
These roofs are covered with Sedum and wildflower which are self sustaining plants and therefore do not require much maintenance. Because the green roof construction covers the waterproof membrane, it acts as protection resulting in long life expectancy.
